LINGUAL ORTHODONTICS CLINICAL COURSE

3 Sessions, theory and practice, every two months.
This course is designed to provide the ability to treat all the cases by lingual orthodontics.
The theorical and clinical course will be developed in 3 sessions of 24 hours each session, every session will undergo in three days. The three days session will be every two month.
During each session the participant will be encourage to discuss his own cases with the lecturer.
* Precognition: Knowledge in Orthodontics.
PROGRAMM:
SESSION:
v Theory
· Diagnosis in lingual orthodontics. Treatment plan design. Lingual system descriptions. Different lingual appliances. Advantages of each one. Magic system from Dentaurum. Case selection. Steps in the appliance design. Set up. Indirect bonding. Arches sequence. Anchorage. Anchorage types in lingual technique. Class I mechanics non extractions. Non extractions prescription for the set up.
v Practice on typodont
· Braces description. Arch form. Different ligation techniques
SESSION:
v Theory
· Special problems solving. Extratorque and overcorrection of rotated teeth. First molar position for the stability of the results. Arches sequence. Class I mechanics with extraction. Class I with extraction prescription for the set up. Arches sequence. Cases presentation.
v Practice on wax typodont
· Design of arches on typodont. * Class I**. Arches sequence
v Clinical part:
· Control of patients.
SESSION:
v Theory
· Class II mechanics. Set up prescription for Class II mechanics. Arch sequence. Cases presentation. Open bite mechanics in lingual technique. Build Up study on vertical anchorage. Finishing. Aesthetics’ goals. Functional goals. Retention.
v Practice
· Class I with and Class II extraction mechanics. Sliding mechanics. Arch design to close spaces.
v Clinical part:
· Control of patients
* The typodonts are provided by the lecturer.
**The participant must bring his own typodont and pliers or the practice.
The practice on patients depends on each orthodontist bringing their own patients to the clinic.
